Key Data Systems (KDS) was established in 2018 to act as a distribution agent for fiscal and non-fiscal retail automation devices in East Africa. The company is wholly Kenyan owned and works with partner companies in several countries across the globe.
KDS provides the base from which large manufacturers can distribute their products in the region. KDS founders have over 20 years’ experience in the business of retail automation and its directors have been personally involved in the IT industry for over 30 years now.
Using this experience and technical expertise, we are able to handle a variety of products and are able to overcome the logistical hurdles that exist in the region. KDS has a large network of dealers throughout the region. This dealer network enables KDS to distribute and promote products widely and efficiently.

We have particularly kept an emphasis on testing these products in Kenya and have well over 5000 users countrywide. The products have also evolved over the years to incorporate new technologies such as FIPS Compliance, 3G Modems, Ethernet & Wifi connectivity and Control Units. This gives us the edge in giving current solutions to our clients. Our primary partner for Kenya is COMP SA & NOVITUS, from Poland. They are the largest fiscal device producers in Europe and have over 30 years of experience in manufacturing retail systems.
Novitus has supplied the original ETR devices in Kenya since 2005. Their track record is unparalleled, and quality appreciated by every level of industry. In Africa, KDS and its affiliates have presence in Kenya, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Mauritius and Malawi. As other countries implement their fiscal law, KDS strives to not only supply relevant equipment, but also provide crucial information to the revenue authority on implementation procedures. KDS also has a qualified and trained technical department that is able to support and repair the products we sell. This team also works on updating and localizing firmware of the products. We backup what we sell and ensure that support for the product is fast, efficient and reasonable.
